Through our Coloring Futures initiative, Yours Humanly awarded K-12 scholarships to 20 underprivileged children in Cite Soleil, an extremely impoverished community of Haiti. Residents have no access to safe drinking water, toilets, or electricity, and scavenge for recyclable materials they can sell. There is a constant undercurrent of gang violence in the neighborhoods threatening the lives and futures of Cite Soleil’s children.
By enrolling these children in school, we removed them from the daily challenges of being on the streets, and will fully support their educational experience from placement through 12th grade graduation. The scholarships cover the full costs of tuition, uniforms, books, study materials, school supplies, mid-day meals, after school programs, and all other educational needs for these precious children.
